Hello everyone, I'm seeking assistance with an issue involving my Phoenix Contact PLC connected to a HMI panel from the same brand. The problem I'm facing is that the panel is malfunctioning due to continuous pressing in one spot. The configuration software for the panel, TSWIN, is no longer supported and it seems like the graphics are stored directly on the panel. The authorized agents are quoting a high price for a replacement. Are there any alternative solutions available to me? Thank you.
I am currently utilizing tswin software.
Hi there! It sounds like you're dealing with a tricky situation. Have you considered trying to source a used HMI panel as a cheaper alternative? You could check out websites like eBay or call around to various electronics recycling companies. You may also want to investigate third-party repair services. Some companies specialize in repairing these kind of devices and could have a solution for you. Just ensure they have experience with Phoenix Contact or similar products, for your peace of mind. Don't forget to backup any important data before trying these methods. Best of luck to you!
Hey there, it sounds like you're dealing with a common touch sensor failure. Before considering an expensive replacement, you might want to check if the faulty part in question is merely the touch overlay. These overlays can often be bought separately and replaced quite easily, saving a significant amount compared to replacing the whole panel. Look for a third party supplier who deals with HMI parts, they might be able to help you out. If a new overlay doesn't solve the issue, it could be a problem with the panel's firmware. As a last resort, try to find a software called "WEINTEK EasyBuilder Pro". It's compatible with Phoenix Contact products and may let you at least access your stored graphics. Good luck!
Hey there, it seems like you're stuck in a bit of a tough spot with your HMI panel. Before you consider any pricey replacements, you might want to try recalibrating the touch screen (if it's an option on your panel), as constant pressing could have thrown its sensitivity off. In terms of the graphics, if they are indeed stored directly on the panel and you can't migrate them due to TSWIN no longer being supported, you may need to manually recreate them on a newer, supported software. It's extra work, but it could potentially save you quite a bit of money. For future reference, regularly backing up your configurations and graphic schemas might help to prevent predicaments like this.
Hey there! I encountered a similar issue in the past. Given that TSWIN is no longer supported, the situation does get complicated. But you might want to consider using either a third-party tool or software which is compatible with Phoenix Contact PLC and HMI. Some members of the community have found luck using Beckhoff's TwinCAT software in similar situations. Another possible solution could be to find a used panel that still works, depending on your budget & the availability. Just remember to double-check compatibility before purchasing anything. Hope this helps!
Hey there! That sounds really frustrating, especially with the software no longer supported. One option you might consider is trying to see if there's any way to reset the HMI to factory settings; sometimes that can clear up issues if it’s stuck on a specific touch point. You could also reach out to community forums or groups specific to Phoenix Contact products—sometimes someone has already faced a similar issue and might have tips for fixes or even DIY options. If you’re technically inclined, exploring third-party HMI software that might be compatible could be another avenue, though that can come with its own challenges. Good luck!
