Troubleshooting RSLogix 500 File Conversion to .slc Due to SLC Library Functionality Not Available Error

Question:

I am attempting to convert an RS Logix 500 file to a .slc file, but when I try to save it as such, I am unable to due to the message "SLC library functionality is not available in this version." This issue is occurring because I am using the "Starter" version of RSLogix Micro Starter Lite. My aim is to open the Library File to program in CCW. If anyone is able to assist me in converting and sending it back, it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

I feel your pain! The "Starter" version of RSLogix Micro Lite does have its limitations, especially when it comes to saving in certain formats. If you have access to a full version of RSLogix 500 or know someone who does, it might be worth asking them to help with the conversion. Alternatively, you can explore using software like Studio 5000, which might give you better options for importing and exporting. If you’re really stuck, reaching out to community forums or user groups specific to Rockwell might also yield some solutions or even someone willing to do the conversion for you. Good luck!

It sounds like you're running into a limitation with the Starter version of RSLogix. One workaround could be to find a more versatile version of RSLogix that supports SLC library functionality—perhaps a trial version if you're not ready to commit to a full purchase. You might also want to reach out to colleagues or local automation forums to see if someone has the full version and can help with the conversion. I’d be happy to help as well if you want to share the file! Good luck!

It sounds like you're running into a limitation with the Starter version of RSLogix, which can be frustrating. Since you're looking to transition to CCW, one workaround might be to reach out to someone who has access to a full version of RSLogix 500; they might be able to help you convert the file properly. Alternatively, if you know anyone in your network who works with larger scale automation setups, they may have the resources to assist you. Good luck, and I hope you get that file converted!
