Hello everyone, I am new to safety PLCs and I am encountering an issue with my hardware setup involving a CPU CompactGuardLogix L43s and 1734 AENT with safety modules 1734 IB8S/OB8S. When I attempt to go online with the controller, I receive Major Fault code 14 code 7, indicating a "Safety task is inoperable." This fault typically occurs when there is an issue with the safety logic, such as a mismatch between the primary controller and safety partner, a watchdog timeout, or corrupt memory. Despite compiling the safety main routine without any errors or warnings, I am still unable to determine the cause of this "safety logic is invalid" error. If anyone has any insights or solutions to this problem, I would greatly appreciate the help. Thank you.
Hello, I believe the issue may lie with synchronizing the time. You can try resolving this by selecting the synchronization option in the properties and checking the box. This can help ensure that your time is synchronized correctly.
Hi there, I've had a similar issue before with my CPU CompactGuardLogix. The fault code you're getting might be due to a configuration problem in your safety partner, perhaps it's not being recognized correctly or there could be a network related issue. I recommend first ensuring that your safety partner is correctly configured and that its firmware version matches that of your main controller. If that doesn't solve the issue, you may need to check your communication modules and media to ensure there are no network faults. In few instances, it could also be a hardware fault itself requiring replacement. Hopefully, this gives you a starting point to troubleshoot.
Hi there, it indeed sounds like a frustrating issue. Code 14/7 typically indicates a safety routine or system issue. Since you've ruled out the programing error, I would suggest checking your hardware connections. Make sure the safety modules are properly connected to the rack. Also, ensure that the safety partnering is correctly configured in the system. You might want to double-check if there are any firmware compatibility issues as well. Good luck!

Answer: Answer: Major Fault code 14 code 7 typically indicates that the "Safety task is inoperable" on the PLC, which can be caused by issues with safety logic, a mismatch between controllers, a watchdog timeout, or corrupt memory.
Answer: Answer: Troubleshooting steps for addressing the "safety logic is invalid" error may involve checking for mismatches between controllers, verifying the safety logic integrity, investigating watchdog timeouts, and ensuring memory integrity.
Answer: Answer: Even if the safety main routine compiles without errors, issues like mismatches between controllers, watchdog timeouts, or memory corruption can still trigger the Major Fault code 14 code 7 on the safety PLC. Further investigation and troubleshooting are needed to pinpoint the root cause.
