Troubleshooting Studio 5000 V28.00 Issues on Windows 7 Pro x64: Solutions for FBD Copy-Paste, ATUNE Tag Disappearance, and Tag Monitoring Problems

Question:

Subject: Troubleshooting Studio 5000 V28.00 Issues on Windows 7 Pro x64 Hello, I’m currently experiencing several challenges with Studio 5000 V28.00 while operating on Windows 7 Pro x64. Here’s a detailed overview of the issues: 1. **FBD Copy-Paste Problem**: When I attempt to copy logic from one page to another in Function Block Diagram (FBD) mode, I select all elements, choose copy, and then paste. However, during the paste operation, only the larger blocks like PIDE, SCL, AOI, and TOT are transferred. Unfortunately, the "Favorites" instructions such as BAND, BNOT, BOR, ADD, and MUL do not get copied over, compelling me to return and manually copy these missing blocks. This results in additional hassle as I need to reconnect all the wires afterward. 2. **Disappearing ATUNE Tag in PIDE Blocks**: When I modify an FBD that contains a PIDE block, I notice that the ATUNE tag within the PIDE block disappears. This requires me to search through the tags to reassign the ATUNE tag before finalizing my edits. This is particularly frustrating, especially when dealing with multiple PIDE blocks (up to 7) scattered across different routine pages. 3. **Tag Monitoring Issue While Online**: While my program is running online, I attempt to monitor specific tags by navigating to the Controller Tags and selecting the Monitor tab. Unfortunately, the tag values appear greyed out and do not display their values. The only way to resolve this issue temporarily is by restarting Studio 5000. I would greatly appreciate any assistance or solutions to these problems. Thank you! Best regards.

Continuing to experience the same problems with version 30.

I've been utilizing v28 Solid for the past year on my project, and I've yet to encounter any issues like that. It almost seems like there might be some compatibility problems with the graphics card. Occasionally, I've noticed unusual behavior related to that.

Hey there! I can totally understand how frustrating those issues can be. For the FBD copy-paste problem, I've found that sometimes using "Edit" from the toolbar instead of right-clicking helps with ensuring all elements are selected properly. As for the ATUNE tag disappearing, that’s a known bug; I've heard a workaround is to create a separate routine where you define your PIDE blocks first and then copy them to your main routine to keep your tags intact. For the tag monitoring issue, have you tried checking your permissions or ensuring that your connection is stable? Sometimes that could cause the greying-out issue. Hope these tips help!
