Hello everyone, I am currently utilizing TIA Portal V18 along with PlcSimAdvanced V5 for simulating my project. However, I am encountering an issue where TIA is unable to locate the virtual PLC. I have configured the settings as follows: - The Siemens PLCSIM Virtual Ethernet Adapter is set to IP: 192.168.0.200 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 - The PLC address in both the TIA project and PlcSimAdvanced is set to IP: 192.168.0.6 with a subnet of 255.255.255.0 I am unsure if I have missed any specific setting or where the mistake lies. Your assistance is greatly appreciated. Thank you, Moelsayed. Keywords: TIA Portal V18, PlcSimAdvanced V5, Siemens PLCSIM, virtual PLC, IP address, subnet, configuration, troubleshooting.
When troubleshooting connectivity issues, consider these two suggestions: 1) Broaden your search criteria to include "Show all connected devices" rather than focusing solely on compatible ones. 2) Explore the additional IP interfaces available for your computer to identify any potential issues. By investigating these pathways, you may uncover the root cause of your connectivity problems and find a solution.
Hello mk42, I have attached all interface configurations for my PC and also attempted to select all compatible devices. Unfortunately, I am still experiencing issues and have not had any luck. Thank you.
I have found success by ensuring that the PLC and the PLCSIM virtual adapter are on the same subnet as the adapter used for connection (such as wireless). It is uncertain whether this is a necessary step or just a superstition. When downloading, try connecting directly to the IP address instead of searching for it. In case of difficulty, input the IP address in the designated field in the dialog box. At times, the Portal software can establish a direct connection to the PLC even if it initially appears incompatible during the scanning process.
I am trying to utilize PLCSimAdvance with the PLcsim virtual adapter without requiring a physical Ethernet or wireless adapter. Despite attempting to enter the IP address for the target CPU and reinstalling PLCSimAdvance with the repair option, I am still experiencing difficulties. I am unsure if there are any firewall settings that need adjusting. If anyone has suggestions on what else I could try, please advise.
mk42 shared that they had previously achieved success by ensuring that the PLC and the PLCSIM virtual adapter were located in the same subnet as a connectable adapter. However, it seemed that this setup hindered their connection. It is recommended to verify that no other adapter is configured on the 192.168.0 subnet to avoid any potential connectivity issues.
Hey Moelsayed! It sounds like you're pretty close, but one common issue is ensuring that both the TIA Portal and PLCsim Advanced are using the same virtual Ethernet adapter. Double-check that the virtual Ethernet adapter is properly active and correctly configured within both applications. Sometimes, switching off your firewall or antivirus temporarily can help with connectivity issues too. If everything looks good on that front, try restarting both TIA Portal and PlcSimAdvanced after any changes. Hope this helps!

Answer: Answer: One common reason for this issue could be a misconfiguration of the IP addresses and subnet settings. Ensure that the settings in both the Siemens PLCSIM Virtual Ethernet Adapter and the TIA project/PlcSimAdvanced match and are correctly set.
Answer: Answer: Make sure that the Siemens PLCSIM Virtual Ethernet Adapter is set to the appropriate IP address (e.g., 192.168.0.200) and subnet (255.255.255.0), while the PLC address in both the TIA project and PlcSimAdvanced matches and is correctly configured (e.g., IP: 192.168.0.6, subnet: 255.255.255.0).
Answer: Answer: First, double-check the IP addresses and subnet settings for consistency. Additionally, ensure that the virtual PLC is running and accessible. You may also want to verify network connectivity and firewall settings that could be blocking communication between TIA Portal and the virtual PLC.
