Troubleshooting Zoomed-in Property Configuration Popup Issue in Factorytalk View Studio

Question:

Hello, every time I open a property configuration popup, it appears zoomed in and I am unable to view all the configuration options. I am unsure if this issue is related to my Windows display settings or a setting within Rockwell. Unfortunately, I am unable to extend the popup. Can someone provide assistance with this problem? Thank you for your help.

One of the most frequent reasons for this issue is related to your Windows Display settings. On Windows 10, you can access these settings by right-clicking on the desktop and selecting "Display settings." The process is likely similar on Windows 11. Within the Scale and layout section, adjust the percentage property - some users find success at 125%, while others may need to revert to the recommended 100% setting. Give both options a try to see if it resolves the issue at hand.

I am not certain if this feature is functional in FactoryTalk, but I encountered this issue while using an application on a colleague's computer. It is possible to zoom in and out of specific windows by holding CNTL and scrolling the mouse wheel, instead of making adjustments to settings. Additionally, using CNTL in conjunction with the plus and minus keys can also achieve the same result.

Thank you for your assistance. I have adjusted the Windows display settings to 100%, which has made everything appear smaller. However, the property box is still being cut off from view. While I am able to zoom in and out on a mimic page, I am unable to do so on a configuration popup box. Any additional assistance you can provide would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

To address the issue, the resolution involved installing the fonts Courier Regular, MS Sans Serif Regular, and MS Serif Regular. Thank you for your assistance.

Hey there, martyndwn! I'm facing the same problem. Could you provide more details? Where did you come across these fonts, and what was the process for installing them? Let's dive deeper into this issue together.

It sounds like a frustrating issue! It could definitely be related to your Windows display settings, particularly if you have your scaling set higher than 100%. Try adjusting the display scaling in Windows (you can find this in the Display Settings) and see if that helps with the zoomed-in popups. If that doesn’t work, sometimes right-clicking the program’s shortcut and selecting "Properties," then under the Compatibility tab, you can try adjusting DPI settings to see if it resolves the problem. Hope this helps!

Hey there! It sounds like a frustrating issue. This could definitely be related to your Windows display settings, especially if you’re using a high DPI display. Try adjusting your scaling settings under Display Settings—setting it to 100% can sometimes help with software windows appearing zoomed in. If that doesn’t work, check Rockwell’s settings for any preferences that might affect the UI. Also, making sure your graphics drivers are updated can help in these situations. Hope this helps!
