Where to Find Logic Master 90 Software for GE Fanuc 90-30 PLC Systems

Steve, I wanted to share my successful experience of running LM90 on a Virtual Machine with XP. I used a USB to 232 Converter along with a 232 to 485 cable. The virtual com port emulates a physical com port, allowing for seamless USB conversion on the host machine. This setup has been incredibly effective for me.

I'm happy to hear that the USB/serial converter worked well for you. In my experience with Logicmaster, I have encountered some challenges with a similar setup as it tends to intermittently lose connection with the PLC. It is possible that your converter has a superior chipset compared to mine, leading to a more stable connection.

Hi Steve, I wanted to thank you for the LM90. Since I no longer have to worry about Estops, I changed the battery and unfortunately lost the program's memory. The run mode shows green with no faults, but the i/o output is currently off. I successfully installed the program, but I am unable to run the machine. I have attached some pictures for reference. Your assistance would be greatly appreciated.

When saying, "I attempted to install the program and it was successful," were you performing an upload or a download? In terms of Logicmaster, a download involves transferring the program from the computer to the PLC, while an upload is the opposite. If you see the error message "No user program present," it means you are trying to run a blank program. Check if Logicmaster displays "Logic EQ" in the bottom right corner of the screen - this indicates that the PLC's program matches the one in the project folder. The error "Add'n of I/O Module" suggests that there is an analog input module in slot 3 that is missing from the hardware configuration file. Remember, configuring hardware is a separate process from downloading program logic. To do this, select configuration instead of programming from the initial Logicmaster screen, and download the hardware configuration file.

Have you successfully installed both the program and configuration files on the PLC system? If it still seems to be incorrect, you might be missing a step. To clarify, you will need to use the Logicmaster 90 Programmer Package for the program and the Configuration Package for the configuration. Begin by accessing the configuration menu (press F2 on the main screen), rectify any issues (such as adding the required module to slot 3), and then proceed to download the program (via F1 on the main screen). Once completed, ensure the processor is in RUN mode. If you are seeing a STOP/NO IO status error, it is likely because the configuration has not been properly downloaded. Similarly, any verify errors may indicate a lack of program download. In my opinion, the most efficient way to run LM90 is by setting up a virtual machine with 32-bit Windows 10 and enabling NTVDM. I implemented this solution for my previous company to phase out our Windows XP machines within our OT network. The flexibility to adjust the console and font size greatly enhances the usability of the program.

In post #11, it appears that you have successfully downloaded the hardware configuration and achieved configuration parity. It is unclear whether the screenshots in post #12 were taken before or after the image in post #11 or post #13. The presence of the program name "HHP" in the screenshot on post #14 indicates that there is currently no program loaded in the PLC. This is the default program name that appears when the memory is cleared. Your next step should be to download the program using the Logicmaster programming software, following a similar process to selecting the "Phillip" project folder and downloading the configuration. To do this, go to the initial Logicmaster screen and select F1 (Logicmaster 90 Programmer Package). Once completed, the program name in the PLC will change from "HHP" to "Phillip," allowing you to start running it. Before starting the program, make sure to clear any errors from the fault tables. Having a proper configuration in place will ensure that the I/O modules are at their correct addresses. Without a configuration file, the output module in slot 2 may be addressed incorrectly, causing issues with the program execution.

It is hoped that the DB9 to DB15 cable includes an RS485/RS232 converter, as the PLC power supply's fifteen-pin port is RS485. The converter is powered by 5VDC on pin 5.
