Hey there! Does anyone happen to have a copy of the RSlogix 5 installer? I am a TechConnect member, do you think they would be able to provide me with a download link? Unfortunately, I seem to have misplaced the RSLogix 5 serial number from my list of support resources.
Thank you, Myles Petro, for your support!
I'm pleased you found what you were looking for. Just so you know, I can still access RSLogix 5 with a legitimate serial number for download.
It seems like the issue is that the serial number was removed from support, preventing him from downloading it. However, it is assumed that he still has a legitimate license. He just requires the installer in order to reinstall his existing ownership.
We made a similar decision with Legacy TechConnect due to its high cost. After removing it from our TechConnect, we noticed that updates were no longer available. While I can no longer access the latest version, I can still download the previous supported version. Regrettably, I am unable to transfer the license to our license server due to its age, so we have designated a specific laptop for PLC5 support. However, that's a separate issue altogether.
The price for an Allen Bradley PLC 5 License has skyrocketed, now reaching around $12,000. This license used to be part of the Legacy toolkit that included SLC but has since been separated. In conversion projects requiring access to PLC 5 code, options include obtaining a temporary license from the distributor or having the customer provide a PDF. This steep cost for the PLC 5 License has become a significant expense for many in the industry.
